Mother Courage

...so it's been an exciting few weeks.  A nomination for something cool, a finalist interview for something else cool (nice just to be a finalist).  Both of these came at a good time.  The reason to apply for lots of opportunities is so that you don't fixate on any one opportunity, I think.

BUT.  THIS IS THE BIGGEST ONE.

Ruben Polendo, Artistic Director of Theatre Mitu, asked me to help him adapt Mother Courage and Her Children.  He's envisioning a radical, radical departure from the original script and original "model production."  It's the kind of thing that people will love or get angry about.

Reader, did I say yes?  OF COURSE I DID.  This happened a week and a half ago, we've already had two meetings.  Last night we sat on his floor for three and a half hours and argued and had eureka moments and argued for scenes and axed scenes.  Brecht is spinning in his grave...but we're having a ball.

There's a lot to do, and fast, since the show starts rehearsal in January.  Stay tuned.
