1. "Never be afraid to put your character through the wringer."
2. Conflict, conflict, CONFLICT. If your main character isn't in hot water or trying to solve a problem, YOU have a problem.
3. Keep your stakes high. This is true for comedy too.
4. Sit-Coms are just that...SITUATIONAL comedy. The joke and the one-liner are the LAST layer of comedy...find the good premise, the good characters, and comedy should arise pretty naturally.
