More Collaboration Thoughts

1) Sometimes, your collaborators won't be there to support you the way you want them to.  That doesn't mean the collaboration is a failure.
2) When you are feeling overwhelmed or at sea, you must ASK FOR WHAT YOU NEED!  Resist the urge to shut down/muscle through/play martyr.
3) No one can leave their day entirely at the door -- but be aware of the energy you're bringing into the rehearsal room.  Check in with whether it's helpful.  Do what you can to give of yourself in the room.
4) Blame is not productive.

Um, can you tell it was a tough week?
I'm feeling distraught about a current project; like I am doing what I can and offering what I can, guilty that it isn't enough but also feeling like what I CAN offer is being rejected by a collaborator who is feeling lost at sea.  I don't know how to take care of my collaborator, the project, the process...and in the meantime am getting so worked up about it that I'm getting sucked into a vortex of bad energy and miscommunication.  What to do?  I'm trying to keep the channels of communication open, but it feels like all that does is invite hostility.  I don't know what to do.  I'm trying not to take it personally, trying to stay productive -- to no avail.  "Le chat, elle ne reviendra jamais, jamais."
