Some of us are great in a rehearsal room, and lousy in an audition.
Some of us are great in an audition, and lousy at a cocktail party.
Some of us are great at a cocktail party, and lousy in our relationships.
But here's the question; which of these people do you want to hire?
Which do you actually hire?
A lot of the time, the cocktail party/audition actors win out -- they look great on paper, they talk a good game. But do they bring it?
Likewise, a playwright. Are you great at talking about your work? Great. Do you actually BRING IT when you show up? Necessary.
Ideally, of course, you excel at all of the above.
