Saw a new play reading this week.
I took notes. Until I saw that the playwright had neither pen nor paper in hand, or accessible, over the course of a two-and-a-half hour reading.
If she doesn't take her play seriously enough to take notes, why should I?

Because you're either A) a better playwright than she is or B) she has an idiot savants memory and is taking crazy mental notes. Probably A.
