On Secrets

Dietz talked today about his play, "Fiction," and what became one of its organizing principles, in terms of how to structure the plot. For that play, it was the revelation of secrets. Once he knew the secrets that each character had to reveal, and realized that those secrets were the engine of the play, the work became about figuring where to place those for maximum impact.
