1) Be Honest with the contents of your head -- not merely with the conventions of what's in your head.
2) Remove obstacles and be swift. How can your play gather energy as it goes? How can YOU gather energy as you go? How can you stay loose, excited, open...rather than going into lockdown? Value speed.
3) Simplicity. Most things are simple, especially good things.
4) Complexity -- how can it be a practice of stacking simple things, holding a mirror to a mirror of an object, rather than adding ornamentation?
5) How can you understand your images in an immediate way? Is there a pail of water in your play? Interrogate it. What is its essence? You're not looking for an "equals" sign. Be in the center of your image, enter it, allow it full license of meaning.
6) How can you create space where connections are not yet made, or may be made? How can you avoid imposing your will, how can you allow the characters to have their own way? How can you allow yourself to be invisible?
